I enjoy taking pictures of people in beautiful places. It can be individuals, couples, pets, or families. It doesn’t matter where either: out at a park or in your home, small weddings in churches, receptions at restaurants, or outdoor elopements. My style is a mix of posed and candid/lifestyle shots; I’ll get a few pictures of you looking at the camera but also want to catch that smile your fiancé only has when he’s admiring you. I have plenty of poses on the ready and also like to give some open-ended directions to get you to interact and move around to relax and just enjoy the moment. My final images tend to have true to life colors, with a hint of extra vibrance or lightness to them. Like many photographers, my favorite time of day to shoot is the hour or two before sunset, aka golden hour. I particularly like shooting then because it’s hard to beat the way the sun looks filtered through the trees behind you and the colors from a really beautiful sunset! I shoot sessions at other times of the day too though, I understand with work and family and life it’s not always possible to shoot at golden hour and it’s definitely more important to get your pictures taken at a different time of day rather than not at all.

What I love most about being a photographer is that I get to help create and capture moments of genuine emotions/connections and freeze them in a picture so that they can always be remembered. I know that our memories can be faulty so I think it’s really important to have pictures to look back on to help us remember that moment or feeling. I particularly adore close-ups because it really puts the focus on you and the emotions you’re experiencing. I’m open to incorporating anything that is meaningful to you in your photo shoot, like your sports equipment or choosing the hiking trail where you had your first date as the location for your engagement pictures.
